I understand the date for the new style number plates has been brought forward to the 31st Jan.
Can anyone please tell me where the approved suppliers are (east side ,Ozankoy area) please?
I assume you have to take your car and log book and the cost is about TL100-Is this correct?
Thanks .

Theres one in karakum(reklam) next door to the tyre place near the turning for karakum beach, you dont need any paperwork ,if you take your car they will fit them for you or just go in select the shape and give them the numbers etc.
Did mine and my neighbours before Christmas 100 tl each set.

Got my number plates done yesterday at the sign shop in Karakum for 100tl.
Keep an eye on him though - he did the front plate first and just drilled new holes in my car...
I was a bit annoyed because he didn't ask, but wasn't too concerned because the front is fibreglass.
Then he disappeared behind my car. I went to look for him and he told me there was a big problem because the existing (manufacturer's) holes weren't where he has been told to put them. He was going to drill new holes in my metal boot!
I told him to use the existing holes and after much protesting he did.
Then he told me he was calling the police to report me, basically to cover his backside (each plate is stamped with the plate maker's number).
I hope the police have more things to worry about than how my number plates are secured to my car!

It would be interesting to learn who is and who isn't an official plate maker. Back mid last year when we had ours done the number embossed is 02. Have seen plates with two and (I think) three numbers nowadays.

Sophie, I asked this question on the Facebook page of Kyrenia Post, which is where originally I posted the information from, but they did not get back.
What about contacting the Ministry of Public Works and Transport who are the people responsible by emailing them on
arsiv.ulastirma@gov.ct.tr
If they do not answer then nothing lost, just find another way to get the information. At the end of the month, it will reveal itself by finding out who got the right plates and who got the wrong ones

Thing is, who will be fined (a) the person who in all innocence, had theirs fitted by crooks, (b) the crooks themselves, who will probably turn out to be the first cousin of someone in Government. I know who I would put my money on.
