Amazon fire stick

Has anyone had problems with Amazon fire stick recently, ours keeps freezing and no it has got nothing to do with the cold weather, serious advice / suggestions would be appreciated.
No problems with mine.
1. Firstly, I would turn off the router at the wall for a couple of minutes and then turn it on again (sometimes the internet provider updates the system).
2. Then I would look to see if there is an update for the app you use.
3. Next I would uninstall the affected app, then reinstall.
4. Failing this, I would restore factory settings and start again
