For anyone who is interested in History this 3 part documentary by Al Jazeera in 2014 tells the story of the involvement of the Arab nations and how they were treated. From the early part of the War to the Ottoman Empire, Independent War of Turkey, Kemal Ataturk, Gallipoli, Syria and the beginning of the State of Israel.

I never realised how involved the Arab states were in WW1 and how they were viewed, especially the Tunisians and Moroccans, whom it was said in the documentary, were treated like cannon fodder.

It's been an excellent series of documentaries as are all Al Jazeer ones. It should be possible to watch it on line their Web site!

Thornaby, I only came about this series due to research of my own family, 3 young men on my fathers side who fought at The Battle of Vimy Ridge and watched it yesterday.

Totally agree about Al Jazeera and their documentaries.
