Ebay Problem.

I recently bought an item off Ebay only to discover the item was fake. I sent a message to the seller as advised by Ebay, but not surprisingly there was no answer. So now I have to get in touch with the site directly by phone, however to call from here, and include the holding time, it will cost a small fortune. I am really upset by this as I do not have this kind of money to throw away.
Has anyone else had this or a similar problem who can give me some advise as to what to do next. The item was rather expensive and it was also a gift, so I really do need to get the money back, if only to replace the gift.
Thank you in advance.

Go to log a problem on eBay .. or contact the seller and tell them you have a problem. Usually eBay are in the side of the seller and will get the seller to refund your money if description doesn’t match the item. If you paid by pay pal lodge a dispute

The original messenger says that she has already tried to contact the seller, to no avail. What a surprise, particularly if they are dumping fakes on unsuspecting buyers.

Definitely go to the resolution page . I Ordered something that wasn’t sent. After one email saying they had a backlog and delivery would be delayed I heard nothing. After sending several emails to them with no reply I filled out the form on the resolution page. Money was refunded in three days

Have you tried to phone Ebay?
I had a problem a while back and found them very efficient. Answered quickly, no being left on hold for ages or being transferred around the world.

Open a case with eBay, they will resolve it for you, they do not stand for anything like that and 9/10 times will refund the money for you.

I'd rather eat my own spleen than phone up the help lines of companies for anything less than a fair amount but i'd call ebay. Very impressive customer service

If you go into “my eBay “ the item you bought should be on your purchase list. If you send a message to the seller via contact the seller option eBay will see the message and open a case for you. The case stays open for 21 days and you can contact eBay if it is not resolved in this time. They will then take it up with the seller.
As a previous poster said you can also go through PayPal if you paid that way.

As you can see in the original post, the first thing I did was email the seller, (I even waited 4 weeks) no reply.
