Thank You

I would like to use the Forum to convey my sincere thanks to everyone who has helped me following the sad passing of my husband Bill McIntyre.

I have been humbled by the number of cards and messages I have received, which have been a great comfort. I would also like to express my gratitude to the British Cemetery Committee who carried out their difficult task with respect and dignity. I requested donations in lieu of flowers at the funeral and I know this was very generously done. I was also personally handed donations and I am pleased to say I have 1000tl to donate on my return to Cyprus. I was also handed donations for Tulips which will certainly be passed on.

On the day of the funeral the rain was torrential, so my heartfelt thanks go to those in numbers who made the journey up to Greenhill Cemetery, and especially to those who travelled from Larnaca.

Rev Mike Graham delivered a memorable service for which I am very grateful. He did a fellow ex-serviceman proud.

Finally, thank you to Bob and Bernie who are caring for my pets in my absence.

Jacqueline. It was a privilege and a pleasure to be there to see Bill off, one of life’s true gentlemen and an inspiration to us all.

And sure ‘twas a soft day and a bit of mud never hurt anyone!

Loved the blue wellies though!

I think Bill would have loved them too!
