Bathroom Store closed

My Husband has just phoned from outside that lovely place on the LHS near the bottom of the New Harbour Road. He was going in to buy stuff that we chose last week (but hadn't actually ordered) only to find 3 men stopping anyone from entering. He was told "You cannot buy anything. Shop is shut down" All the lights were on, the ladies were behind their desk and what we wanted was about 8ft inside the door. The men said store belongs to someone else and should open again on March 12th approx.

Am a bit miffed as we haven't been able to find what we want from anywhere else.

Yes that's the one. Like you, we have always been able to get what we want (and so has our plumber) at a reasonable price. Always very good quality as well - nothing naff. I don't know anything about franchises etc., only that they were not allowing people in and would reopen in March 12th.

We were there earlier and they let us in. There was a sign on the door saying they were closed for 3 days when I asked why, they said for stock taking. There was also an official letter posted to their door (and also çagra) with today's date and a time of 1900hrs, so maybe an official driven stock take?

They didn't have what we wanted but they suggested we try their Lefkosia branch. Google 'Ermatas Lefkoşa' for directions. Here's the link to their website https://www.ermatas.com/home

Hello.
Apparently, yes they are closed for a few days but are reopening. There are only Turkish speaking people there at the moment, so maybe what they said came out wrong.
But it's not closing down. So hopefully you should still find your tiles.

Hopefully, that's all it is, stocktaking....would hate to lose them.

We're planning on going to the Lefkoşa branch tomorrow so I'll try to remember to ask what's going on at the Girne branch.

I hope you are correct and that its not closing. Have double checked with OH and he's convinced they said 12th March and that it belonged to someone else now. Strange though, because he then drove to Cagra, it was open and he was served with no apparent stock taking. Maybe it was from 19.00 onwards? Watch this space I guess.

Good news from what I have been told by the Lefkoşa Ermataş branch. According to the English speaking staff member there, the Girne branch is not closing or being taken over by another company. It was closed for stock control, the Lefkoşa branch is next and then Famagusta.

Thank goodness for that. Information clearly got lost in translation and the "heavies" on the door were talking rubbish.

There's always a chance that the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing... Hopefully what I was told is correct.

My husband uses Ermatas a lot and went in today to sort out some orders. They are moving to two separate premises, one near Digiturk and one near the old Stonegrill restaurant. They are closed at the moment for stocktaking before the move. I go in regularly for my husband so when the new premises are up and running I will post on this thread

Just close by the Arch over the road (entrance to Alsancak) and almost opposite the turning to Kervans and just up from SIBA. Stonegrill was the restaurant where you could cook your meat on red hot "brick" thingies. Its actually been up for rent for ages so maybe that's actually where they are going to.

Have been today to Ermatas opposite Lords Palace.
It was trading as normal and will continue to do so.

I was told as follows :-
The Ermatas Company main shop is in Lefkosa.
The Lords Palace shop was a franchise, operated by Ali Bey and his family. They have left this premises and are moving their franchise to different premises (I wasn't told where or when).
Ermatas Company have now taken over the Lords Palace shop as their own Girne Branch.

Well there you go. Typical TC habit of dripping information out just as and when, be it correct or not. I've found a smallish but extremely good stockist in Karaoglanoglu. Been past it dozens of times and never been in. Glad I did because they had everything we needed and we'll be moving allegiance!!

a1sysman, sorry about delay in supplying information. My first reply seems to have disappeared into the ether. I'm referring to a place directly opposite the Ataturk statue in Karaoglanoglu main road, on the LHS down from the Cinema. It's called K IstKent Yapi Market with a large sign over the entrance - blue life.com.tr and KEOPS systems. Hope this helps.
