Burglaries - Esentepe

Just to let people know two villa's next door to each other in Esentepe not far from Tempo have been broken into.
Having been into both of them, they are both untidy searches where they appear to have only been looking for jewellery & money as no electrical goods have been taken.
They appear to have forced open sliding patio doors or windows.
Police are aware and been down to one of them, we are just about to let them know about the other one.
They appear to be targetting holiday & unoccupied premises.

I have now reported the second one on our site to the police.
Two things - they have also had one on Marina View, Esentepe and second they have a couple of suspects but need more evidence before they act - well that's what they told me anyway.
Just be vigilant everyone, believe it to be a loner on foot as only looking for money & jewellery.

Time to invest in a burglar alarm perhaps...

Thanks for your post Lee. It gives people the heads up and the need to be more careful. Whilst Burlglar alarms may be a good deterrent it's also imperative to give the police some help In identifying the culprits. CCTV resulted in the capture of our intruders and the return of the majority of our property. This of course is a problem with holiday homes but neighbours who are resident and have CCTV systems may assist. Not sure what the complete answer is but it's an horrendous feeling to find your property has been violated. Best wishes to the owners of these villas. Please keep us informed.

There has been some pool chemicals stolen from an outside store on Palm Homes last week as well. Strange thing to steal Chlorine but suppose it has a value.

Just to let everyone know, the police have just been to my villa and advised me they have caught the culprits responsible for the burglaries in the Bahçeli, Esentepe and surrounding areas.
The were apparently from mainland Turkey - faith is restored !!

Remove their hands, then deportation without treatment.

Excellent news. Do you happen to know if these two were responsible for the break ins in the Tatlisu/Kucuk Erenkoy areas?

Unless the Esentepe Polis is in contact with the Tatlisu Polis regarding this spate of burglaries, I do not know how posters can answer this very genuine question. Two separate geographically bordered areas.

I've just heard from a neighbour that two are in custody for the break ins Tatlisu/Kucuk Erenkoy, whether these are the same two as the Esentepe ones, is not clear yet. There is a third who has been apprehended in Turkey, and being conveyed back here.
