Just a note to beware of the Bees near the Hives situated at the bottom of the passage leading to the House on the hill. Wife, myself and our cat, were attacked as we approached the fork in the road. I received 4 stings the cat was stung but luckily the wife got off with just a fright. No, we were not after the Honey !!

Next door neighbour - same place last Friday, attacked by a swarm - 48 stings.
Taken to Girne hospital - had injection, on drip but recovered after a couple of hours.

Could you be more specific with the location?

Up the hill right hand side of the Ravine behind Karsiyaka Football Stadium. Wow, paul90 , what a horrendous experience. Area is best avoided. The Hives obviously need some professional attention.

We walk up there all the time. The hives have been there a good while and have never been a problem, even when we've walked right past them. However this year I have been buzzed once and got stung two mornings ago. Luckily enough I was able to pull the sting out of my face before the venom took hold, so I was OK. I don't understand why they are so belligerent this year, whether it's because they are a different type of bee I don't know. Take care.
