Anyone know why, I assume this was a demonstration, they eventually headed towards Girne?

I saw at least 35, as it was difficult to cross the road in my car and watched them drive by. One police car accompanied them. They all had Girne - GAU on the front and a regular user said she thought it had something to do with them using the GAU road to pick up students. She could be way off beam and just guess work on her part. A general strike would make more sense.
