If you are going to Turkey. Remember you can't pay for the visa in TL. You can pay by Euro Pounds or Dollars. Or as we only had TL with us, we had to pay by Credit Card.

I have seen people standing in the long queues for visa and when they hand over their cash they are surprised it is not accepted and they then have to start in the queue again when the have proper money.

For the uninitiated this is Scottish pound notes which are only legal currency in SCOTLAND!!! I believe others have been caught out with similar currency issued in Northern Ireland.

Aye it seems a bit daft when you can't spend Turkish Lira in Turkey eh.
