Has anyone used an Echo Dot or Amazon Echo here, interested to know if they will pick up UK news and work here?

So you link into your wifi, do you need a VPN for connecting for UK services or are you able just to select various services e.g. local radio in the UK, Spotify etc

We use a VPN, not a free VPN but one that requires a subscription as we find it more reliable. Plus we remain connected to the VPN most of the time.
We use it mainly for R2, R4 and of course asking “Alexa” to find and play music for us. Haven’t tried local radio or Spotify.
Also have an Amazon fire stick and subscribe to Amazon Prime so that gives us more than enough tv options.....again works fine.
As with all the above, if the Internet is struggling then so will these devices but in the main our internet service is more than reliable enough.
Hope this helps.

I have Alexa on my Kindle Fire and it works fine. I have subscribed to Amazon Prime and the ITV hub and can access both on my Kindle Fire without a VPN, just need to buy a firestick now to watch on tv.
