Bottled Water from Four Companies Recalled
April 23 2019 13:41
The Ministry of Health has said that bottled water produced by four companies contain unsafe levels of bromates. Safe levels are 10μg/L
COMPANY NAME BROMAT QUANTITY PRODUCTION DATE EXPIRATION DATE
Asian Water 30 μ g / L 04/03/2019 03/07/2019
My Water 18 μ g / L – 03/07/2019
Kösedağ Water 51 μ g / L 09/04/2019 07/09/2019
Aysu 17 μ g / L 09/04/2019 07/09/2019
This only relates to water supplied in carboys. Water production has been suspended for one week while tests are being made. Consumers are warned not to drink this water and return it to suppliers.

This is on an EVSU bottle but I imagine it will be the same on all.
Edit. Sorry it’s sideyways but you’ll get the picture (see what I did there )

Ayse bottles don’t have the date on the white cap. Can’t find it anywhere. Can anybody help with where the date is on an Ayse bottle.

I can't find it either Spud, but we've got Mehmet coming today so I'm going to check it out with him when he comes. spoke to him yesterday and he said 17 was ok - I beg to differ if the Government are saying otherwise, but I will question him when he comes - I'll post later, unless someone else updates.

I wonder why these particular brands. Do they all use the same well or something. Aysu is one of the bigger firms isn't it?

We use Aysu - Mehmet came yesterday supposedly to deliver water. I asked him whether it was still 17, he said yes but was safe. I also asked about the date on the bottles - apparently no date is put on the bottles as they are filled newly every day. Sorry, cynic I may be, but if the Government are saying 10 is safe and all production has been stopped, how can 17 be safe? So rightly or wrongly, unless the Government say differently, I won't be using this water, I will happily buy safer water from supermarkets, I don't care if it costs more, what's more important, cost or health???? Each to their own I suppose.
