Friends travelled from Heathrow yesterday which meant them leaving home at 5am they are both in their eighties. Upon arrival at Istanbul they were helped to a waiting area. There they sat the staff changed shifts and when they eventually remembered them there were not enough buggies free to take them to the gate hence they missed their connection to Ercan due to arrive here at 3.20 Thankfully there were two seats on the next flight which arrived at 6.20. They were totally exhausted and said upon my meeting them NEVER AGAIN !

This also nearly happened to us, we made enquiries as best we could and this resulted in us being pushed on the run through the terminal and we were the last on the plane, thank goodness but if we had said nothing, then we would have missed it.

That's the reason we fly through Larnaca as the Special.Assistance is so good. Heard some very uncomplimentary comments about SA at Istanbul, both the new airport and the old.

With respect, I have copied these posts to the Disability Matters forum as it is intended to make information about mobility issues more easily accessible.
