Yes such a shame as location wise it is perfect. We called by a few months ago and whilst there is someone new managing it, the Chef is the same as when the original owners had the Verandah and the menu is the same as it has been for years. So unfortunately we shall not be frequenting. A restaurant is only as good as it's last meal and sadly our last meal there was not good.

Typical example of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants that close down, but don't remove their roadside signs. You're not the only one who has made a wasted journey. It was a great place when they had very little competition. High ranking UN personnel etc., were regulars when it was "the place to go to".

I ate there in March and we were the last diners. We chatted about the closure and how disappointed we were and were told that it is going to be rebuilt and would hopefully reopen this summer. We were shown the architects plans and it is going to be a very modern restaurant with a private beach. It didn't look as though there would be any dining on the waters edge in the new design so sadly it won't have the same quirky charm!
