I don't know if this will help, but I get this with my Arcelic fridge freezer periodically. Freezer works fine, but fridge temp goes up to 9C and stays there. Switch off for 48 hours leaving doors opened and place towels and a basin/vegetable basket on the fridge floor. You will get quite a bit of water as ice in the works melts. Then switch on and leave for 24 hours before putting your food back in. Worth a try before getting someone out to repair, as that's what I was told to do by the Arcelic guys, and was charged a small call out charge. Not complaining about the charge, but at least I know what to do now.

the fault described and the solution sounds very much like a faulty defrost heater that is clipped to the cooling coil of the fridge. this inside and at the back of the fridge behind a panel. The cooling coil ices up and is unable to defrost if the heater is goosed. turning the fridge off allows it to defrost naturally, but this makes the beer warm, not good!

Thanks for that info Thornaby. Do you know if this is a costly repair? I've got another fridge freezer now, so the one which plays up is a secondary one. I've had a few repair men in for this problem, and none have suggested this, just to switch off and allow to defrost, which I always felt wasn't getting to the heart of the problem.

good morning Alpha Mike, your comment about the repair Guy's advice is spot on, he didnt diagnose the cause of your ice build up. all modern fridges are auto defrost so why should there ever be a need to turn it off?
i had the same problem with my Samsung and I got a heater sent over from the uk. It was not very expensive although I cant recall the cost.
I seem to remember (old age) that there is also a small heater in the drain from that lets the defrosted water run to drain.
a good idea is to look this up on Youtube under a search refrigerator defrost heater replacement. it probably wont show your exact make but it will show you how to do it.
if you do have a go, before removing the panel that covers the cooling coil and heater, give the fridge plenty of time to for any build up of ice to melt away.
my heater was simply tie wrapped to the cooling coil and the electric was just a plug connection. I would test the heater with a test meter before chasing after a replacement because it is also possible it is a control issue and not the actual heater
hope this helps, nothing worse than warm beer.
