Fly Infestation

Hi

Does anyone else have an apparent fly infestation in their garden?

They are very small, even smaller than a fruit fly, they don’t appear to bite but are maddening as they fly around your face and into ears.

Any ideas on a cure too?

Kind regards

Lasagne

Yes we have been bothered by them too, they give nasty bites as well. I am sitting in the garden as I write, flyswatter in hand!

Outdoor fan helps......blows them away.

Also citronella sticks or candles plus the lemon cologne.

We seem to be inundated with these pesky flies - using sprays, fans, flyswatters and being bitten rotten - and their bites are as bad as gnats and mosquitos - how can tiny tiny flies give such painful bites? Does anyone know what type of flies they are? Can't believe such tiny things can have such an impact, and I thought sand flies were bad!!!

A friend recommended Vicks to stop the biting flies and mosquitoes. It does seem to work to stop them biting, so worth a try. Not sure how much it costs, but you can get a version from Mr Pound, if it works out to be cheaper.

I wonder if the influx of these flies has anything to do with the huge volume of water that fell over the winter?
