What is involved to catch up? Anyone know if there is someone who can do the necessary for us??

It depends if all the paperwork is here with the car
Recently I offered to tax and MOT a customer's car as he could not come out
First I had to renew the insurance
then pay for the MOT at the tax office
Mr Erdener was going to service it and MOT it but unfortunately it came to light only a copy of the kocan was in the folder
If I had been successful I would of then be able to tax it.

Another customer had 5 years back tax, this was more difficult as we had to prove I was not an imposter so POA had to be in place or he himself had to be here to carry out the above

Not really relevant to the thread but they have never wanted to check the insurance when I have been to tax a car.
It would be such a simple thing to do as there are a great number of uninsured vehicles on the road
There will be a penalty to pay if the MOT is overdue but as they only have to be done approx every 3 years you might be lucky!

I have taxed and mot' d my friends car any times with no problem just cash and the docs no kocan. Are you sure it's not to register the car you need a

I have all the documents but no current insurance. As we have been absent for approximately 2 years I need someone to mot,and tax etc the car when we return next week. We will not be able to do this ourselves owing to mobility problems.

The tax office wanted to see the insurance before I paid for the MOT, yes it depends on who is dealing with you, she accepted the copy of the kocan along with the insurance company.
Mr Erdener would not take it to the MOT station without the original kocan as this is when the car documents are all checked by the police, again sometimes nobody looks and you get a MOT cert.

A fine will be on both the MOT and tax if late

original thread, a friend could take the car and documents to Erdener if you are east side and renewing insurance is not difficult for a friend to do either.
