19 litre water bottles

My bottle was refused for an exchange at Erderners, east side. The bottle was according to the girl out of date, this I could not understand as the bottle with it's two others are exchanged all with in a week. She showed me the date on the bottom and this was 2005, 14 years ago. Terrifying. After some debate the bottle was accepted and exchanged. It seems that the shops only check what's coming in from the customer and not what's coming in from the water company!

There was a bit of a debate about this when the age of bottles first became an issue - to be on the safe side, you would need to check the date stamps on the bottles that shops sell you...

KC, I agree. I buy my water from one place only, Alsancak Starlings, and the first thing the checkout girls do, is turn the bottle upside down and look at the date. Since I've stuck to one store and one brand of water, I've had no problems.

Always shoped at the shop, never ever seen the full bottles being checked. This one quite obviously has not been flagged up at the water bottling place but it is quite scary that a bottle has been in use for fourteen years!

While it is in use it isn't trapping some poor aquatic creature. The longer the better I say.

Thornaby, clearly I didn't explain properly. The girls on the rear check out at Starlings check the date on the bottle I'm returning and I have seen them refuse to take a customers empty one back. I wasn't suggesting the girls turned a full bottle up side down!!
