According to http://www.gundemkibris.com/34-milyon-s ... 44960h.htm in the past few days, Acapulco's TC owner, Ünal Çağıner, paid the original GC land owner 3.4 million pounds for 35 dönüms of land. In the deal with Akinita Adelfon Odysseos Ltd it was agreed that this figure of 3.4 million pounds would also include 38 years of use.

According to the report, the Acapulco Resort covers some 100 dönüms of land, all of which was formerly GC land. The report also writes that Çağıner would like to make his enterprise 100% above board (even according to our southside friends) and so, in due course, he intends to purchase the remaining 65 dönüms from the GC owners.

100,000 pounds per donum, including 38 years usage.
Seems like a bargain.

Apparently, in the southside press, the GCs are complaining (aren't they always?) as to how easy it was for Acapulco's owner, Çağıner, to purchase the land. Lukis Lukaidis, who was formerly a lawyer for the European Court of Human Rights, said the GC government should intervene. Apparently the GCs are concerned that wealthy Turkish investors, seeing how easy it was for Çağıner to buy the land, might fund other land puchases (of GC land) elsewhere in TRNC.
