Does anyone know if the main road through town past The George is still closed in the evening at the weekend please?

Think they stopped that silly idea as it must have affected a lot of shops back street

It was supposed to have been a three month trial, but too many locals and shop keepers objected and it was stopped. Actually the holiday makers seemed to love it and I admit it was nice to be able to wander around and cross the roads without being concerned about dreadful parking. Like a lot of good ideas, it was voted down too soon and without being given a chance to bed in.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it was for 3 months but need to be down there tonight for a function and going round is such a long way.
