Does anyone know a good place to get a petrol strimmer serviced/brought back to life. It’s a Makita & hasn’t been used for a while.
Thanks all

Alsancak. Theres a cypriot guy who is really good. After you pass mardo and frankies, head towards lapta area on main road. about 200 metres on left hand side, (if you pas the big merit sign you have gone too far) you will see stuff that gets serviced etc, just in there. (he won't be open till after bayram though)

Would think twice before going to him,did some work on ours, not impressed at all. took ours to girne, going towards town from the lefcosia roundabout
take a right turn, very narrow lane approx. half way down, can't miss him.

I have to agree about the guy in Alsancak. Avoid him at all costs. So so many bad reports about him and my personal experience . Shocking.

Agree. The Alsancak guy said the piston on my machine would have to be replaced at considerable cost. Went, instead to Mustapha who changed a damaged seal! His shop is located:- Leaving Girne, on the left is a restaurant 'Red Ribbon' Opposite is a narrow road (beside the Chemist), follow the road round to the left and you will see Mustapha's workshop.

Consider taking it to Charlie the motorcycle repair shop in Girne, top bloke,I would also avoid the man in the container workshop in Alsancac

Hi

If Karakum isn’t too far, there is an old boy there. I went the other day and he spoke good English and was very helpful, even though he couldn’t do what I needed.

It’s right opposite The Red Ribbon restaurant. There is a chemist over the road and access behind the row of shops, by driving down the side of the chemist. Behind the shops is a large yard. His garage is right next to the car mechanics garage.

Hope that helps.

Kind regards

Lasagne

Thank you all very much for the helpful replies. In any recommendations, we can only speak as we have found, & I appreciate that.
I’ll probably try Mustafa first, as we’re in Catalkoy.

Canada tools up by the Malpas turning. Near Bo Thai (that was) could probably do it. They sharpen our chain saw.

I drive past the Alsancak guy and the Mediteranean Gardener. Had major issues with both.

I use Erkdal at the crossroads the other side of the hill to Lefkosa near the petrol station.

Very good and helpful. Only other suggestion I have is Paralik in Karakum as they are a Makita dealer.
