A couple of months ago we did see a villa for sale on Mayfair park and drove over to have a look around. We found the villa as advertised but was told by the neighbour next door that the property was not in fact the one for sale, but the builder who lives the same complex In agated property was actually selling another scruffy property but using the photos illegally. The neighbour also warned us that the builder was holding them to ransom to get the title deeds in their names and was wanting them to pay in excess of £15,000 to get them. So please be aware, the villas are nice and of a good size but come with major problems!!!!

Don't buy anything without full title deeds and then if they are old the land measurements could be out and that creates even more problems. Buying here is a nightmare in waiting, if you feel you really want to buy go for resale with full documentation. I personally know one couple who built a bungalow, which is now abandoned as it has no access and part is built on some one else's land. I know another couple who bought there dream home from a builder who was wonderful. Their words to me when warned were Oh so an so wouldn't do it to us". They've gone now as the house was on some one else's land and the landowner refused them water and electricity. If you want more advice PM me and I will try to help.

Hi. I live on Mayfair Park so am definitely in a position to comment. Mayfair Park as with a lot of sites does have its issues but tbh we are very lucky. The house you are referring to (if it is the one I believe) belongs to my neighbours and comes with title deeds in the owners name. This was done before the builder decided to increase the price of the deeds in order to enjoy his life at our expense, again. So everything is in order in that respect. We have by ourselves with no help from the builder, over the years organised belediye water, bins and all pay our bills so we have a good relationship with the belediye. Would I buy one of the houses from the builder as advertised as ready to move in. NEVER. Would I purchase my neighbours house with full deeds absolutely. We could all get our deeds if we wanted but some of us are holding out for a government miracle by putting laws into place to stop the blatant ransom over deeds. If you require further information please feel free to contact me.

Also with regard to the articles you have shared. It is worth mentioning that these articles are from 2011. Mick and sue Tapp settled their differences with the builder several years ago and happily spend between four to six months here each and every year , they also have their title deeds. We personally have been in our house 11 years others still haven’t taken there keys. The deeds that have been issued on my neighbours house are new and are available to view at the estate agent. It is easy to comment when you don’t know the facts. It is also easy in these situations to scaremonger. If you have real interest in the site feel free to visit any of the houses which are occupied and we will all happily tell you the truth.

The builder of Mayfair Park also collected from buyers over £3million to build on Mouflon One and Two, Discovery Bay, Sweetwater and Marina Park, he did not complete a Villa or repay any monies.

Rent first, research thoroughly, seek local, impartial advice, then consider your options. Do NOT trust anybody involved in property sales as their business, be that estate agent, developer, landowner, advocate et al. Personally, check your area Land Office for memorandums or other impedances. Property purchase here is worse than the minefield between the RoC and TRNC!
