Remove an Gmail address from my Laptop

I have three Gmail addresses and need to remove one of them which I've only had for a year. Have tried three or four sets of instructions on Google but don't seem applicable i.e. I need to keep the two original addresses that I've had for years and years. From the instructions it seems to assume that I want to delete all Gmail addresses and I certainly don't want that to happen. Any assistance would be most helpful. Thanks

Thanks for that Navek will give it a go. My only concern being that for some reason one of the Gmail address that I've had for years and was the primary address, has now been superseded by the address I want to delete and itstillworks seems to imply that you can't delete a primary address, unless I've totally misread it.
