A lot on the TRNC news web sites this weekend about the incidents at Cyprus International University in Lefkoşa.
Apparently it all started at 01:30 on Friday evening / Saturday morning when there was a serious altercation between three "Eastern Turkish" students (shown below) and two other Turkish students, when (apparently) the three students objected to not receiving a greeting in reply to the theirs ... yeah, I know, petty In any case, the police arrived on the scene and arrested just the three (Eastern) students, who apparently were the worse for alcohol.

Unfortunately, the fact that the police arrested only the "Eastern" students, led to a demonstation at the university later on Saturday morning by between 70 and 100 PKK sympathisers, many of whom arrived from outside the campus. Apparently they were shouting slogans (in Kurdish) such as "Long Live Apo" - this refers to the PKK leader currently imprisoned by the Turkish authorities. Apparently various windows were broken and other students (one presumes that didn't support the demonstrators) were attacked. One in particular, Arda Güç (shown below) was taken to Lefkoşa's hospital, where he was found to have a fractured skull.

The headlines of this report http://www.haberkktc.com/haber/bu-kavga ... 53144.html say "Let this be the Last" and "We don't want to see any more of your fights".
It should be noted that there have been similar incidents before between PKK sympathisers and Turkish Nationalists, particularly at Near East University in Lefkoşa and Eastern Mediterranean University in Mağusa
