I recently did loads of research for a holiday in North America. I wanted an annual policy. I noted that policies in the UK were required to start and end in the UK and that was no good for us.

To cut a long story short I found the best, and only useful cover, from Anthony McCartney at Avant insurance. He can be reached during office hours on 0 (533) 833 08 41.

Sorry Paul but I cannot imagine a policy that cheap would be any good! Do you know anybody who has claimed on it?
We use Nevett & Taylor 0044 1663 747000 contact Ben we used to have Staysure but are now with Voyager
The cost runs into hundreds of £ due to our age & medical histories but we do get everything covered

Used "Globelink", UK. Insure people upto age 89! We've had them insure us several times for travelling Europe, Asia etc. When had problems they paid all our expenses without any problems. Try them!

Globelink looked very interesting but they do not insure residents of TRNC

Ozankoys I was just going to say the same, just contacted them and they said they do not insure residents of North Cyprus.

The problem with most local policies is that they only cover you for the bare minimum required by Schengen agreement, that is 30,000 euros plus you are not insured in Turkey. I had same response from Globelink and numerous others, that they won't insure you if you live outside UK/Europe. I ended up going with Expatriate Healthcare Group https://www.expatriatehealthcare.com/travel-insurance/ who confirmed they would insure 'residents' of TRNC but not pre-existing medical conditions and that Cyprus should be put as home country. However, I would suggest that you get that in writing from whoever you approach.

Friends of ours in the UK, their son had a serious skiing accident in France. They were with Staysure, he needed hospital treatment, private jet home Etc, staysure never quibbled at all about the cost.

Staysure have suspended expat policies due to Brexit, otherwise they would be my first choice. They've left a big hole in the market.

I’m pleased to announce that a very good “Expat Banking Representative ” at the Turk Bank based in Karoglanoglu was able to deal with our insurance at a very reasonable price.
