So I’m thinking about getting a well dug. Is there a company that does the whole application to the relevant government department and dig ? Also has anyone had one dug recently, need a ball park figure on cost. Ps I’ve had a water survey done and I have water running under the ground in various areas of my property.

I was under the impression that you are not allowed to dig wells any more or so I was told by a local.

If so, two local TC neighbours have broken that rule within the past three weeks on our small estate.

I think your correct, I believe this was discussed a long time ago and as I remember you have to get permission from the Land Registry and that they were doing checks on wells and any without permission would be filled in. Also something about how many wells in the area where you want to dig would make a difference.

Digging a well is labour intensive and could be expensive.

Makes sense to me the more the underground water is depleted the less there is to go around. With all the new high rises and hotels everywhere we will one day run dry. Or ask Turkey for more!

All wells have to be licensed and shown on your Kocan as being licensed.
As stated above unlicensed wells are illegal and liable to be filled in.

I too was thinking of having a well built, so I have asked my Solicitor what I needed to do below was the answer. You need building permit for a well from the district office and city and planning office.

I also heard they may make people cap off existing wells to encourage people to pay/use the Turkish water.

Wells are expensive to dig... you need to work out how long it will take you to get your return in investment vs just using the Turkish water
