Click on the link above, scroll down a little, and then play the video.
It's not written anywhere as to how the footage was released, but apparently the disturbing incident happened about a month ago and has been circulating on social media.
In the second report (below), also in today's TRNC press, Deputy Prime Minister, Kudret Özersay, condemned the violence, saying that an investigation into the actions of
those responsible was started soon after the incident. He added that such images could seriously damage the reputuation of North Cyprus.

The police have just issued a press release about the incident. Apparently, it happened on June 13th. According to the police, the man was severely intoxicated, and complained that his mobile phone got wet (how is not clear) on the x-ray belt there. Apparently he then shouted and swore at the police.

And for that heinous crime he deserves his face being kicked by a custodian of the law? Strange world civilisation has given us! Let's hope the victim has family/friends in high places, else he'll never receive justice for this animalistic offence by a police official.

Apparently he's now "görevden alındı" ... could mean "sacked" or "suspended" ... it's not clear.

Also, Kudret Özersay has said it shouldn't just be a police disciplinary investigation, but a criminal investigation.

It should be noted though that Özersay is only saying all this now, more than 6 weeks after the incident. Today was the first day, that the press got hold of the video ... and naturally everyone has been shocked by it.
