I am not indirectly advertising here but just wanted to say that we have just enjoyed a most pleasant visit to Villa Lembos in Dipkarpaz. Very central for beaches etc and the grounds and bungalows are simply divine. Mine host supplies wonderful food and the ambience is perfect. Must be good as it was used by Italians,French and Greeks and of course Brits. This place is doing its very best to put North Cyprus on the map.

Just a shame that the hoteliers in Dipkarpaz were responsible for the removal of Hasan and the others wooden beach huts.
They complained that they took trade away.....

Location of limbos isn’t brilliant we felt. Not much around within walking distances etc but granted the grounds are lush.

Sorry to hear that Panchocat but we are to old to live like Robinson Crusoe and a bit of comfort suited us.
We only used it as a base Wales for ever and never envisaged walking anywhere. Horses for courses and if it brings loads of foreign tourists here then he must be doing something right. Totally relaxed.

Is it situated right next to a beach and if so, is it a clean beach?

Thanks

No it’s in the very rural area of Dipkarpaz. Farm country with loads of animals around. It’s central to all the area and most beaches are 20 minutes away. There are other small hotels further up the Karpaz which are right on the sea but these did not seem as popular as the one we stayed in. We mainly used the beaches towards Yeni Erenkoy the local council beach being very good, 5 lira for an umbrella and lounger. Access is pretty good for those not so nimble. We also used the hotel beach further up(name escapes me) and the access was even better, You drive down to the sea and a very short walk to beautiful sandy beaches, the sea is crystal clear and there are the usual showers etc. Golden beach of course is near to the Monastery and miles of sand and idilic. However for those with limited mobility it’s a bit of a hike to the sea and very basic.

We ‘did’ the Oasis last week and enjoyed a cracking meal in a lovely setting. We were so taken with the place we have booked to stay overnight in September. Can’t wait.

Oasis has always been our favourite place to eat until last year. I had to use a broom handle to keep the cat population off the table. (Keep it in the car as a walking stick). The new manager thought it funny, he had no regard for it being a public health issue. As we all know 'cats rule ' in NC. Hope they have got rid of them now ?

We visited Oasis two evenings ago. It has always been a restaurant that we visit when in the Karpas twice a year. Yes there used to be cats and dogs back a couple of years ago but on this visit I saw one cat which passed through the dining area and one new puppy dog who was playing with the children. I spoke to the manager and asked about the animals and it would seem he has taken the comments about animals to heart and has stopped then annoying his customers. The food was excellent, the welcome was surprisingly warm compared to other visits. Perhaps this is because he told me he has an english wife and she obviously has imput. So unerringly, we recommend Oasis.

I think we visited this during our tour. Is it situated before Dipkarpaz. If so we met the owner of Crispy Squid there who fishes from the rocks at least 3 times a week.very nice setting with sea access. Always nice to know alternative venues.
