Please - Need help with water meter

Went to Lapta Belediyesi on Friday morning to register change of ownership on water and property tax - water card was updated.
Later same day realised no water flowing into property - checked meter - a message flashed up, before showing 15.8 tonnes - I put card in and pressed black button, meter ‘whirred’ and then the message disappeared - all good, I thought...
But still no water.
Can anyone advise what to do? Water tank is well below halfway now.

Hi steveodp
1, Try putting your card in and pressing button again.
2. Check neighbours are getting water.
If they are.
3. Contact Lapta Belediyesi ASAP
Good luck.

Is there any out of hours support from the Belediyesi?
I’ve tried calling 0392 8218327 but there is a recorded message, and when I press 9 for English, the call ends.
Is there another number?

Press the button without the card in. it should display "Kontrol"
Put the card in and press until water flows.
This keeps happening to a neighbour.
The water dept. know of the problem but don't do anything.

I had problems when they first put mine in . It was a second hand one taken from else were still paid the 5000tl but the battery was knackered so went up to the beladia Esentepe they checked yes battery gone no more meters at moment waiting for them after about 10 weeks lots of visits i bumped into the Major todl him he said to the bloke put in new meter today . They turned up 2hours later put in another second hand one but it works so bite the bullet. Perhaps this could be your problem as the battery is charged buy the meter turning but if gone then it wont open the valve . Just a thought

Sounds like a visit to the Belediye in the morning. Try to persuade someone to come to your house in your car rather than relying on them coming later. In the meantime, don't panic just use the remaining water very carefully. Do you have a tank on the roof and a tank on the ground? If so, you probably have 1-2 tonnes left and that should last a couple of days if used carefully. I'm sure you know the drill, don't leave the tap on when you're brushing your teeth, take very short showers, don't flush the loos (if it's brown flush it down, if it's yellow let it mellow lol), etc

Thanks to everyone who replied, and special thanks to the neighbours who came over and offered advice too.
Still no joy, so I’ll be returning to the Belediyesi tomorrow, and it’s rationing until then

Appreciate you asking, anything is worth a punt, but yes, tried that. The problem is definitely with the meter not letting water through.
Will see what happens at the Belediyesi this morning.

Last year my meter just stopped letting water through despite being in credit and everything looking OK. The Beli replaced it with a new model

Went to the Belediyesi for 8.30 this morning, explained the problem, and someone was at the house by 9.15 - very impressive!
Turns out it was a double-whammy...
He found a fault with the meter, so took it off, did something in the back of his truck - don’t think he replaced it - and then flitted it back, saying ‘all good now’.
His face was a picture when the water still didn’t flow.
He then tested the incoming supply and found it was off.
After a few minutes of him being on the phone, it turned out that sometime over the weekend the water to our area had gone off - I think he said burst pipe? - but it wasn’t something he was aware of before then.
So even if I had been able to solve the meter issue, the water would have still been off for some of the time...
Anyways, to cut to the chase, late morning the water started to flow again.
Thanks for all the help and advice - it’s things like this that make living here interesting
