I bought 4 leclite bulbs in erdener and on the box it read 500 to 1000 hours but 3 from 4 blew as soon as I put them in,what a rip off

If you bought them to replace already blown bulbs it may be worth checking the appliance you put the new bulbs into by taking out of an appliance that already works the bulb that already works and putting that one in the appliance with the blown bulb. Three out of four is a lot of redundancy and I would suspect you have a faulty appliance - just don't tell the shop of course!

Fault socket, faulty plug, faulty fuze, faulty cable, faulty bulb holder, faulty switch? - nope must be the light bulb, good job I checked all the rest before having the house wiring replaced - lol.

There was a time in TRNC when the shop you bought the bulbs from actually checked them before you left the shop. This procedure was also adopted in small shops in the UK years ago.

Good grief, I can remember that, our local village store had a devices fixed to the counter. I think 90% of the bulbs were bayonet in those days.

Elektrokur will test every lamp if asked.

I have come across a lot of bad light bulbs here. Best to buy a decent brand. Also some houses can have excessively high voltage, which doesn't help.
This can be checked on most smart meters by pressing the button several times. Ideally should be between 230 and 240 volts, but I have seen some with over 260 volts. If too high, then Kibtek can change for you.

No let me explain to thicko s, the paticularly lamp has always been fine so I changed the bulbs to leclite one lasted a fair time and 3 blew as soon as I put them in,so not the lamp but the bulbs,got it now thicko

As a matter of interest what voltage does it say on the box some are 220v and not 240v several European country’s operate a 220v system

It shouldn't make any difference in practice - see this article on 'Voltage Harmonisation'
