I notice the penalty for the offence of "No child restraint and protection system 10%" (of the minimum wage - i.e. 340TL)...
I have NEVER seen a TC child restrained or protected in a vehicle!
They are usually bouncing around in the back, or stood between the front seats, or sat on the front passenger's lap - in a perfect position to be projected through the windscreen in the event of a frontal collision.
It's a pity that they don't observe the Law, and also that the Law is not enforced.
There's not much point in having Laws otherwise!

So be interesting to see how the judge deals with the drunk driver, with no insurance who hit us at speed when we were stationary and then drive off before the police and ambulance arrived!!!

I doubt that will ever change whilst they have Allah protecting them.
Inshallah and all that.

Having the fines is one thing, having the will to collect them is another.

Believe me Enjoying The Sun, if you're a foreigner, they'll be knocking on your door and delivering the necessary paperwork. It might take 6 month+. Very pleasant chap delivered mine and he certainly seemed to enjoy his job.

From my experience of living in the Middle East for over 5 years, not using seat belts / kids bouncing around in the front / back of cars is common place. Speaking to my Muslim friends about this, their reply was inshallah.

That should minimise their carbon footprint, Emma Thompson would be proud.
