Morning All.

Just been up to the Esentepe tip, they have blocked off the entry. Is it closed now.

Cheers.

Yes, it has been for a while but it doesn't stop people dumping rubbish outside or breaching the defences. They keep having to block off the entrance.

Maybe, just maybe, if the idle Bashkani actually did something of real value for the people he purports to represent, he would identify and provide an alternate site for rubbish disposal?

This is crazy were do you dump then . The Esentepe Beladir planted some trees along the side of our estate at Karpasia then dumped all the plastic plant pots down the gorge at the back so is this the way to go or can they do what they like we have to travel miles to find a dump ? funny old world here

Sadly, due to the apathy/indifference of the Belediye to the problem of rubbish, you do what builders, contractors and locals do and just dump it. If just 1/10th of the money spent on erecting the 'white elephant welcome gate to Esentepe and the beach club' had been used to the benefit of the whole community, then the town roads could have been repaired, dwellings and restaurants rubbish could have been collected (now 12 days) and a replacement rubbish site provided. Hey ho, "this is Esentepe, Cyprus my friend ".

All rubbish should be disposed of at Gungor EU funded dump.

Are you serious? Are those living within the width and breadth of the TRNC expected to somehow take their household/garden/rubble to one site in Gungor? I cannot credit, even the TRNC Government, with that idiocy.

Apart from all this. Does anyone know why we are not getting our bins emptied.

Cheers.

Have you asked at the Belediye? I guess you'll get the 'broken lorry or Cyprus shrug' as a response.

Of course I meant Esentepe Belediye rubbish... they have been fined for not doing so in the past.

Ah, thank you Groucho for the clarification. I guess we still have no answer to the original post though as to a disposal site for individual's household waste in the Esentepe catchment area?

In Alsancak, we leave it on the pavement and request the Belediye to collect whatever the scavengers leave behind

Oh for the luxury and forethought in such a service in Esentepe.

God, that's tempting. Problem is, living in Bahceli is getting it there! Still awaiting household/restaurant rubbish collection - now over two weeks. You can imagine the smell and feral animal infestation!

Hi Tom,

Dumping rubbish outside of the mayors office in Esentepe would be a complete waste of time.

He’s never there now.

Art, have the locals finally woken up and binned the waste of space, 02 and H2O? Keith - either in the Esentepe tip or under a stone.

According to my neighbours he spend most of his time at the sports bar he has opened on Esentepe beach, so might be a good place to start the search there, but who knows!

Might just be a good opportunity to run breathalyser checks there?
