Time they fitted some pavements to the roads.
So many people in danger walking out at night.
Just can't be seen in dark clothing walking on the road as the off road is so bad.

And in the meantime, always remember what you were taught in the Scouts/Guides - walk on the right hand side of the road, facing oncoming traffic, so that you can see them coming and be ready to dive out of the way if needs be...

Also recommend something hi-viz or at least reflective especially at night.
Keep a Hi Viz vest in your car in case of a breakdown too.

And remember the old rhym “Be bright at night, wear something light”, it used to be on the TV (624 lines) and one I always remembered!

I finish work in Town at 11pm and have given up using the main road to Catalkoy, too many hitchikers on the unlit left hand side of the road in dark clothing , jumping out at the last minute to flag you down

I was told yesterday the local character that used to walk up and down the main road in Karsyaka has also been killed!
RIP.

He was a harmless enough guy related to the Yigit supermarket family, I believe. He certainly didn't deserve that. He used to walk around shirtless in the midday sun which always worried me. His age was described as 65 in the Cyprus Mail (South) online newspaper, if that is true he was good for his age. RIP, another character gone for good. Condolences to the family he left behind.
