Hi Folks,
Three simple questions
Our friend arrived at Larnaca 23rd Oct 2019, with one way ticket,
New TRNC Visa Rules just implemented.
He was told at the TRNC, Beyarmudu crossing point "30 days Visitor Visa"
He would now like to stay for over his 30 day Visitor Visa allowance.
1. How can his, UK Passport, Visitor Visa be extended?
2. How does the Fine System work for over staying Visitor Visa period, cost per day etc?
3. Where online etc can we find Visitor Visa info?
TIA

According to the information that has been published so far: If he is staying in an Hotel, then he needs to either pay his accommodation bill in advance or ask the Hotel to produce a letter confirming that he will be staying at the hotel for the period, and then take that to the Immigration Authorities and ask to have his Visa extended.
If he is staying with you, then you would need to ask the Immigration people - it may be that they would accept confirmation from a Muhtar or Noter, but I've not seen anything that refers to that circumstance.
I think that all of the information/clarification that has emerged so far has already been posted on this Forum.
I think that the fine per day is one day's minimum wage, but you would obviously get better information from Immigration!

According to the Lawyer answering questions on FB you need to go to the Immigration Office in Lefkosa, not the local police station , to extend a visa.

Fine is 100 TRY/day for the 1st violation, 200 TRY/day for the 2nd, 300 TRY/day 3rd etc etc.
It hurts to pay fines. Don't do it.

So I understand that if you have family staying with you longer than 30 days you can extend by getting a letter from a notary but what about having friends staying with you longer than 30 days ......Any one know how to extend their 30 day visa...?

You've done a lot of research before moving ver here........
You're keeping your head down with regards to obtaining residency......
You shouldn't need to obtain residency, because 'if it wasn't for the brits buying en-mass....you know the rest'...
Oh but...
Wasn't it 'you' that gave us the island for free?

ps:I now have a neighbour,a pensioner that had worked most his life in holland.......campaigned for brexit, believes England is for English........but lives in 'trnc'......sure you'd like to meet him.........you could keep each other company, whilst keeping your heads down, too!
