cost for first time TRNC driving licence

The appropriate fee depending on validity of licence chosen as detailed below. Prices are correct as at January 2020.
o 1 Year - 259.90 TL

o 2 Year - 384.80 TL

o 3 Year - 514.70 TL

o 5 Year - 789.50 TL

o 10 Year - 1314.00 TL

I paid the then valid 10 year fee for a first application just before Christmas, have to do it in the office in Lefkosa, but a very quick and easy process. There was no extra charge made for a first application. The link I posted above shows the documents you need, if you google TRNC driving licence application form, there is an English version which you can fill out in advance. I asked the gentleman who looked over the application which class a UK Cat B licence was (car) and he filled that bit in for me.

After about three weeks, you have to go back to pick up the licence. A five minute process as there was one person in front of me at the desk.

Might be me but I can't see if they will take plastic or must be cash. Can someone confirm please.

The TRNC DL authority accepts plastic.

Looking at the documents needed there now seems to be no requireent for a muhtar's letter. Anyone able to confirm if this is true?

If you have a residence permit stamp in your passport, no.
I wasn’t asked for a Muhtar’s letter when I applied.
Take a photocopy of your passport photo page and the residency stamp page.
