One of my earliest memories of (Sir) Nicholas was the voice of Tex Tucker in Gerry Andersons Four Feather Falls. But the funniest i have, was in the Mr Jolly Lives Next Door episode of The Comic Strip Presents when Rick Mayall and Ade Edmondson had an Escort Agency next door to Mr Jolly the hitman. They received his post in error one morning and upon opening an envelope found a load of money and a note inside saying to take out Nicholas Parsons - so they took him out - to dinner. The scene in the Dorchester particularly showed how professionally adaptable Nicholas was.
On a separate but relevant note, they kept Derek Acorah quiet who passed away on 3rd of this month. Did he have "the gift", or was it all fake? Either way he was a good entertainer. Just didn't see the Pneumonia coming!
