I saw something on here a few weeks ago that to coat your villa with a cladding prior to painting will insulate it and prevent cracking, damp etc. Can anyone give me further information about such a product and whether it does actually work?
My house is due to be repainted and there are a number of areas that will need repairing first and am thinking that if there is a product out there that will stop this I will possibly try it.
Any thoughts, recommendations?

Have seen someone selling this stuff which was made of polystyrene and coated with thin cement on outside. Would not touch with a bargepole due to fire hazard etc.. I am waiting for somebody to start selling fire resistant Celotex thermal plasterboards, in which case I would insulate external walls from inside.

Take a look at this video , I think these are the type of boards they use for exterior cladding and insulation.

U can only get the poly covered with concrete. Looks great and covers a multitude of problems. Looks good when finished

The thing is you can’t stop cracking out here due to the way the property is constructed. So at least it hides the problem and saves painting and repairs every 4 5 years and when u do need a paint job it’s cheap as no repairs also the heating saved cooler in summer so in long term u get u money back +

I am sure this product can be adapted to improve issues we have in TRNC by incorporating air vents to allow walls to breath. There must be a solution out there, fed up of constantly re-plastering and re-painting every year.
I will experiment with another method this year for internal walls, by dot and dabbing water resistant plasterboards (approx 1 metre high along walls) with 1cm gap between wall and inner side of boards, then adding air vents to allow moisture out.
