In LGC news new restrictions on the number of customers depending on the size of the shop. Also restrictions on opening hours. 7am till 6pm.
Our local supermarket was open 24/7,Where are the extra staff going to go?

The same place as staff from other shops that have been closed since last week - home!
Or perhaps the Lapta Coastal Walk - it was very busy with locals this afternoon.

I can understand that they should be at home but that doesn't pay the rent or buy food.

Hopefully we all stick to the rules normality may return on the 28th, then the officials only have to control people entering the island
Its only 2 weeks at the moment for those living here if we do as they say.

Don't know where this was needed but I went into Starling Alsancak at 9.45 (the one nearer to Girne). There were no cars on the car park and other than a young boy buying bread I was the one and only customer. Shelves were full and the staff were looking bored. There was hand wash just inside the door and by the tine I came out half an hour later there were about six customers and four cars parked. Somewhat different to the appalling behaviour seen in UK don't you think.?

The supermarkets over here will not be like the panic buying in England as unfortunately the Cypriots do not earn a lot of money to stock up. I notice in England toilet rolls seem to be the big item to buy. So just asking if you do get the C-virus do you need to go the toilet a lot!! Lots of toilet rolls in different supermarkets here. I think it would be foreigners who would panic buy here. My sister lives in the south. She wanted to buy paint to decorate after the damp winter. Diy store open, other shops and charity shops open. Restaurants will do takeaways. I told her one man in Girne yesterday in his shop, shop closed nobody inside but he was on his mobile so they said he was working and he got arrested by police.
