I have a smart lg tv and want to be able to access netflix us and bbc iplayer. I changed my VPN and country as US on Netflix but it will not play the films saying I am using an unblocker or proxy.

Yeah, using a standard vpn doesn’t work for Netflix on some smart tv’s.

Either use an iPad / iMac or use a dns based vpn

How can I get about using a dns based vpn ?

Many of us here are using https://www.smartdnsproxy.com or https://www.streamvia.com successfully. There are no doubt others if you google.

I just switch off the VPN when I want to watch Netflix. Bit of a pain but it only takes a couple of seconds.

I'm using Streamvia but have to disconnect to watch Netflix. Am I doing something wrong?

No you are not. The claim that streamvia's DNS redirect service allows you to watch out of region netflix content is bad information. It does not.

The vast majority of Netflix's content is available 'in region' be they determining your region as Cyprus or Turkey.
