Isolation Boredom

A way to alleviate boredom during self isolation.

Go to you front door and stand in the open doorway. Close your eyes and imagine all shops are open and you go shopping. Imagine you can buy whatever you want. And you do.

Open your eyes, close your door and check your bank balance.

Wow!

Look at all of that money you've saved. šŸ˜·šŸ˜‚ My Two Cents

Not bored yet, a long time more to go yet I suspect. Money saving is great though, never spent so little in the 15+ years I've been here.

Kent Adult Education are starting online courses and I am going to sign up for Learning Turkish. Not cheap but will be nice to interact with others and have my pronunciation corrected.

Plenty of exercise classes especially for older people out there on the internet. Have a look at www.10today.co.uk 10 minute exercises that can be done standing or sitting. Older trainer with Youtube videos or audio. Free of course. I'm doing it, works well.

Sophie, my husband thinks so and he is definitely well and truly British, the only doubtful saying is the 'earworm'. It is used in German, but apparently 'travelled' to England in the 70's and is now used there.

AM: it’s when a song or tune gets into your head and you can’t get rid of it!

The worst I had was when we visited with our three year old granddaughter. We must have seen ā€œFrozenā€ and ā€œFrozen 2ā€ a dozen times each and heard ā€œLet it goā€ at least double that number.

Argh! It’s just come back :((

Thank you Mowgli. Sorry for bringing that tune back to you, but it's in my head too due to my grand daughter who used to belt it out.

No Sophie. That’s a wee beastie that gets into yer lug and eats it’s way through your brain until eventually it come out the other side (or starves to death in the case of some of the idiots who don’t seem to believe in ā€œsocial distancingā€).

Tell me about it mowgli, this place is littered with it. The favourite method seems to be leaning into another persons car window (whilst parked at least) to have a chat.

To relieve boredom today: - taking everything out of three medicine cabinets, giving them a good clean out and then CHUCK AWAY everything which is out of date. I'm sure I'm going to find stuff that goes back to the Nightingale era.

Cleaned out medical cabinets. Chucked out two thirds and can get everything into one cabinet with easy. Success!!! Now the big one and only if I have the fortitude to do it tomorrow i.e. the CUPBOARD UNDER THE SINK. Lord only know what I'm going to find there, alive or dead.

Just be careful because people are going crazy from being in lock down! Actually I've just been talking about this with the microwave and toaster while drinking coffee and all of us agreed that things are getting bad. I didn't mention anything to the washing machine as he puts a different spin on everything and certainly not to the fridge as he is acting cold and distant. In the end the iron calmed me down as she said everything will be fine no situation is too pressing.
Well, my vaccuum cleaner said that we just have to suck it up and get on with things........
My cooker said there’s no pressure and my bed said I should sleep on it 🤪🤪🤪
I've just chatted to my liquidiser who suggests we should try to blend in with everyone......but the kettle was boiling mad with all the restrictions! ... And now my TV tells me to use social distance discretion and be a metre away from the presenter..🄓🄓

Still haven't picked up courage to face cupboard under kitchen sink. Soner, have you any idea as to how to clear it out, other than wearing full body armour and ventilator.
