People are still not self isolating

Despite all the evidence from around the world and the overwhelming impact it will have here in Northern Cyprus, some people are still not self isolating. Their need to socialize with friends is more important that acting responsibly . These people might as well wear a tea shirt saying I am a spreader and I kill people. Shameful!

It will do no good just moaning on here, even though I agree with your feelings.
If you witness this behaviour, then tell the authorities and have the culprits arrested.

The problem with that ozbey is when the behaviour is being done by those who are the authorities or have have a 'relationship' with them

The other problem is that the police let the culprit know who informed on them, which makes it very difficult if it's someone you know, or a neighbour.

Ozbey, I can "moan" about a lot of things, toothache, the weather, poor service in a restaurant all relatively trivial things. This crisis is the exact opposite of trivial. If my post can shame those offenders who are contributing to the deaths of innocent people to alter their ways then I will keep posting!

Thornaby, moan away and I'll join you. Sadly what appears to be high percentage are Expats. e.g. on Friday in Starlings I watched 6 Brits, come in at different periods, not one of them used the spray or took the latex gloves provided. They must have known each other and during their shopping just stood there rabbiting away in a tight group. They disgust me. They have no excuse at all, and are just thoughtless, arrogant and plain stupid and of course nothing like 70+ years of age. I make no apologies for joining Thornaby and perhaps shaming those involved and others like them. The locals are not blameless either, when they enter the food shops they seem to lose all sense of responsibility.

One of the saddest things Ive seen on tv was the Pope preaching to an empty St Peters square in the Vatican once a place of hope and joy for those who believe. RIP all those that have died because of this curse.

People who are not self isolating and mixing with others will prolong this. In the UK as well as here numbers of infected and deaths are still growing because they caught the virus before we were all self isolating. Now most of us are here those numbers should slow down but they wont for a couple of weeks. If we all stick to the rules anyone who is ill whilst self isolating will go into the system be that at home or hospital and not be infecting anyone else. Each one that is taken out of the equation is one less to infect anyone else. Therefore given a few weeks the numbers 'should' decrease eventually but not if stupidity and arrogance are allowed to continue unchecked.
I have not seen mentioned lately how many have been arrested here for being out without a valid reason but last I heard it was 42. More arrested means more people being given a very strong warning that the Authorities are taking it seriously. If people are too stupid or arrogant to stick to the very simple rules then a time in custody should adjust their attitude which may help the rest of us.

As arresting people is the opposite of social distancing and is more like herding, is it helping?
What they need is tasering ... just to let them feel the pain.

Nice

However I still ask the question what if those not following the rules are the ones carrying tasers or are 'connected' to those carrying the tasers ?
Or are we on a 'right to bear tasers for all' theme here ?

It is common here to see policemen driving whilst doing any one and or all of the following:-
Texting
Talking on a mobile
Driving with blues and twos blaring without cause. Maybe their chips are getting cold...
So expecting them to set a good example is a stretch.

Group of guys half an hour or so ago piled out of a car close to my place and with arms round shoulders, pushing each other and generally having fun, they've gone walkabout up the hill. Its deserted here but even I don't take dogs for even 10 minute walk despite the fact they are dying for one. Not wanting a chocolate medal myself, but it just doesn't seem right. Useless in leaving a message on car, it would probably be scrunched up and chucked on ground straight away so what's the point? There isn't one.
