Am I wrong in thinking sales of items should be on hold during the lockdown.
In UK my local Market Place sites have stopped all selling.....

I don't think you are wrong Cally. I saw an advert the other day and then thought OK how is someone going to pick that up then?

Story from the UK.

Although I agree in principle, some of the laid-off workers with no money may be in desperate need of cash... just saying there may be good reason to sympathise.

Certainly they should take as many precautions as possible not spread germs but surely it's no more dangerous than going shopping as long they stay at a distance items are disinfected...etc.

The post and delivery vans are still working in the UK. If the address is extremely close (within half a mile)the item can be left outside the door/window.

I understand that deliveries are still being made in UK with stuff being left outside for recipient to come out after. But my concern is home to home as opposed to warehouse to home.
As you say Groucho, sometimes needs must, with all precautions possible taken. It still means people out & about on non essential journeys.

I think you'll find they will feel it's essential if they have no money and no food... Unless you know of any shops that are giving food away.... Home to home with adequate precautions means the item being exchanged will certainly pass through less hands than warehouse to home...
