The article in Cyprus today, today is a very fair one BUT there is one major error in the piece on page 4 about blood. The BRS will find blood for ANYONE, not just BRS members, any nationality any person who needs rarer blood, or even any blood, can be helped. We will find donors from our date base, if possible, for instant rarer blood, and also find donors to replenish blood that has had to be taken out of the blood bank in a hurry for say, an accident. As long as the family or helpful friend, contacts the BRS Welfare committee member, they will do all they can to help. So please, dont think that we only hold blood days to get blood for UK ex-pats, it is for everyone, and we need all nationalities to come and become donors because that will give us a better spread of types so we are able to help more patients, instantly!

I haven't read CT, but I already knew that BRS blood donzation days were for the Blood Bank and not for just ex pats. So what did CT say and who wrote it, and don't ask me to look at CT because I am stuck up my mountain with no newspaper in sight.

But I will happily put something in the paper next week - too late for this as paper has gone to bed, but if you have any info you want spread around, just ask. I would hate for anyone to think that BRS are being selfish over blood.
Now of course is the appeal for Bone Marrow, but the BRS register won't be any good for that, I guess. Just hope that those eligible will support the Lapta Belediye's appeal for would be donors. any donor has to be a completely unselfish individual, but has to be a citizen - shame!
