Hi folks
Is anyone else noticing the number of ticks there are just now? Our pooch is 11 and even though she is wearing a paraband we have never seen her picking up the number of ticks she is just now in her 11 years. Is this unusual for this time of year?

Also meant to mention our neighbour who has 2 dogs has exactly the same problem with her two.

Aiways lots of ticks this time of year. Bands and treatments help but best to check out dogs every day and pick the little so-and-sos off. Please be humane, they didn't ask to be born a tick!

Stopped using Paraband and similar last year, as I was disappointed with the results and went on to the chewy things and it was miraculous. Not a tic/tick or flea on 5 dogs. Cover sandflies as well, little buggers that they are.

I didn't know eating ticks was 'a thing'...

You'd be surprised at the "things" I get up to as KC will confirm. In the meantime I think I'll do something really useful to pass the time and paint my toenails. There' s never a dull moment. (off topic I know)

Likewise Cats - our two keep bringing these nasty in on their coats, any idea if Nexguard is for cats too?

Hot Hippo, I've not actually used it myself but know Famagusta shelter use it, easier to administer with 500 dogs. I believe the vets supply it but will check for you.
Sammydavis, I've not heard of it being used on cats but I'm sure a phone call to your vet will tell you
Just googled this.....Can NexGard be used on cats and other pets? No. NexGard should be used in dogs only. ... Don't re-administer NexGard before the month is through.

Have been told a few drops of apple vinegar makes them fall off.
