Car Insurance

I had a call from my Car insurance company yesterday. It is due for renewal on the 24th of April.
It is only insured third party, last years premium was 259 lira this year it is 514. They say this is because of new laws bought in by the Government.
The problem I have is that I cant get a quote from any other company as they are all closed down.
As we are not using the car I don't know whether to not renew it and what till more agencies are open.
Or if anyone knows of any agencies that may still be operating.

What? The Government set the insurance premium, not the Insurance company....

The government set the minimum amount of the third party payable.

Thanks for all your replies, Turk Bank has pointed out that there is a minimum policy fee of 490 lira for Third-party, so this explains why my policy has gone up 98%.
The logic behind this is somewhat difficult to understand because as we know there is a large number of vehicles on the road that are not insured.
So putting up the cost of insurance will only lead to many more not being insured.
Never mind let's hope we will not be involved in an accident with them.
Again thanks...
