I bought some masks a week ago from my local pharmacist. I just went again to the same shop and the masks had gone up from 2.5 tl to 4 tl for exactly the same mask.

I didnt ask who was profiteering but clearly somebody some where is !

Gave up on mask's, made my specs steam up and don't fit properly around my large hooter anyway. Today bought some of the clear face guards that I can use again and again and again, don't steam up and easy to clean after/before use. Simple to put on the head, super clear to see through and don't make you feel like you are about to run out of air as you are free to breathe. Asked the pharmacist if they were a Government acceptable alternative to face masks and also asked the police who were lurking in the car park - the answer was YES! Not cheap at 70TL for two (1 each for me and the wife) but well worth it I feel. Happy to wear it anywhere and anytime, as the face guards or masks are to protect YOU from ME I think these are the things to have for now and the future.

I think Venezuela and Zimbabwe might quibble on your definition of hyperinflation tbh but the government needs to keep an eye out for this as potentially pricing people out of masks and gloves should be a bit more important than making sure shops don't put an extra 1TL on a pack of cigs

Now I think I know what I was charged for as the young man mentioned there were 2 masks 70tl , I expect the lady normally in charge thought he was asking about them on the telephone but he gave me what I call builders masks, can wear around the neck. The others he had were the ones you wrap onto your ears. Must admit generally just take them off my husband who gets them from the yapi markets but unfortunately stock is low and others at places of work so had no idea of cost.
