Groucho have i done this right, the android download said after installation that it does not support You Tube, or was it that (as i would expect) You Tube doesn't support Videoder? Would be good to have something on phone for You Tube as I've only got a downloader and mp3 extractor in Firefox for You Tube at the moment.

Top tip, when searching for tv shows I always try and find the program with the following parameters... 720p MeGusta

e.g Belgravia 720p MeGusta

MeGusta uploader always puts the files in HEVC X265 format matroska files (.mkv) 720p is fine for nearly all tv and film output, higher resolutions are available...

That way the file will be 50% smaller than 1080p and 50% smaller than x264. i.e about quarter the size using less of your valuable bandwidth and disk space. All without loss of definition too.

VLC Media Player is my preferred player

Thanks Groucho.
I use a Synology NAS to store downloads with DS get and DS Video to play via an Apple TV.
Unfortunately they’re in Ozanköy and I’m not (though should be) and I switched off my Multimax before leaving. Grrrrr!
However No. 2 son is also on line with his system so all is not lost!

There are no adverts on GetiPlayerAutomator, but that's only for Macs. The Windows version is a bit more complicated to use.

I tried downloading from ITV and BBC this morning with Videoder. ITV downloaded quite quickly, BBC programme took quite some time, but wouldn't matter if you do your downloading overnight. It's always good to have another option when there are glitches from time to time with GiPA.

I don't think the speed of BBC downloads is Videoder's fault... The source is hammered and even though I can use iPlayer itself downloads are often very slow. But with Videoder I can download progs that are not available for download like A Question Of Sport.

You are possibly right Groucho. I did a test with one programme and it was showing hours for downloading on Videoder, but only took 10-15 mins on GiPA, so knew it wasn't my internet. The delay was somewhere, but no idea really. Good to know that you can use it though for programmes not available to download on BBC. I very rarely stream anything, just when rugby is on really, or the rare programme on Ch4 or 5 that I can't find for downloading.
