Yesterday, whilst in the front garden, I saw a dark blue shooting brake slow down in front of the house. I looked over to see if it was someone I knew. I then heard a bang, and saw a bird - I don’t know what type - fall from the overhead wires into the walled lemon grove opposite. Feathers flew and I realized that the bang was gunshot. I felt sick. Why, why would someone do that? I can only think complete ignorance and idiocy.

Now supposing this irresponsible felon had missed the bird and the bullet travelled into a nearby property and hit someone. What then?

Regrettably I was unable to get the vehicle’s registration number otherwise the police would have been informed.

On every other day, it is illegal to discharge a weapon, full stop.

In these kind of cases, you should call police at 155 immediately with any and all information and details (photos, plate numbers, descriptions etc)

If i had know that i would have done so last year staying at a friends cottage in Ozankoy. One of his relatives next door uses an air rifle to shoot pigeons off a telegraph pole in the corner of his garden from inside his back door. I told my friend but what and if anything happened i don't know.

To many pigeons and sparrows anyway,pigeon and sparrows nesting everywhere and crap all over the house and car

In normal times too many humans leaving their crap and rubbish everywhere spoiling the place. Would you shoot them?
