Re booking flights with BA vouchers

Hi.

Our flight with BA on the 30/3 was of course cancelled. We would have preferred a cash refund but ended up with vouchers.

You can't apparently use these vouchers to book online. I've tried ringing the BA customer service booking line (at 7p per min) after a while they tell you they're too busy and to ring back later.

Has anyone else tried to use vouchers?

BA should have adapted their online system to accept the vouchers if they refuse to give cash refunds.

Hi - we were due to fly out on 21 March and requested vouchers before the flight was cancelled. We were also due to fly to Seville in May and this flight was cancelled. To receive a refund you had to phone BA, which I did expecting to have hold for a considerable time. Perhaps I was lucky as I only had to hold for 5mins. Excellent service, refund for Seville flights and March flights re-arranged for November.

So if anyone would prefer a refund the key is to wait for the flight to be cancelled and use the number on the email to get through.

Next flights booked for June - so we are keeping fingers crossed (but not totally hopeful) that we can fly out.

Hiya.
I have spent an entire day phoning BA. I phone 0800 727 800 and go through the options-at the end of it all a voice tells you they are too busy to take your call and call back later.I have also tried their 0344 483 0787 number (7p per min) but that's exactly the same.

If I am paying by card I can book the flight online immediately but if we want to use the voucher they gave us then we can't use it to book online-can only be done on the number that they won't answer.

I appreciate they are very busy and these are difficult times-but if they want to makes refunds by voucher they should have set up their online booking system to accept vouchers-or answer the bloomin phone!!

Going to try again tomorrow.

Legally BA have to refund you the cash within 14 days of their cancelled flight so don't get fobbed off with vouchers. There is a 'class action' court case about to start in the UK about this situation.
