If you do not see the Captcha displayed, try using a different browser.

The same thing happened to me after renewing the letters about 8 times and I couldn't get to next page (same message) In the end I gave up the ghost and went in person.

Tried several time no sucess

I had the following message and emailed them all the details of the vehicle I was trying to tax, within 24 hours the car was taxed, this is the third time I have used it and can not fault the service I have received.

I kept getting the message about the verification code and just refreshed until one worked, managed to do it no problem. Remember to put P in front of your passport number.

Don't forget you can always e-mail them, if you are having problems.
I did this when I was having problems and it turned out that it was because I did not put a letter 'P' in front of my passport number.

Two other things to remember:
1) You need to put your registration number in with no separation between letters and numbers
2) You passport number will be the one you used when you got your logbook. So if you have renewed it since then, they will still have your old passport number on file.

I too emailed them and had a reply quite quickly telling me where I had gone wrong. Our car is registered in both of our names but it has to be my wife's name to do this. Plus the date on the logbook is out by one day so it would not come up as recognised. When I looked at the initial paperwork from when it was registered that date is the day before the day shown on the log book. Once that was done it worked but without the help from the email it would have meant a trip into town.
